Spring?

Well, it is spring time here in the great northwest.  That means beautiful flowers but still cold weather.  It makes it feel like it isn’t spring, but on Sunday, when it was hailing, I got the first real wiff of my grape hyacinth as I walked up to my front door!  Now that says spring!!  They smell so good!  I made Jake stop and smell them and he told me they smelled like “an old blue marker”. Ok – whatever 5 year old.  Appreciate nature!!  Then again, I have a picture of the cherry blossoms on my computer as my screen saver and the first time he saw it he said, “Wow! That is so pretty!”  I guess I’ll cut him some slack on my beautiful spring flowers smelling like old pens.

So, it is spring and my spring cleaning is almost done.  The only thing left is the toy closet which I have tried to pawn off on the girls, but Katelyn thinks it should be a WHOLE FAMILY project.  We all know what that means, they help me pull everything out and then conveniently find something else to do when it comes to sorting and putting everything back.  So, it is still messy.  I also didn’t clean my pot lids on top of my pot rack.  I figure, my mom is coming in May and she loves those jobs that I never seem to get to! :) Right, Mom??  But seriously, I have almost enjoyed doing laundry in my clean laundry room, I smile when I look up at my spiderweb-free curtains, and I found a bunch of old Creative Memories stuff that I’ve earned $80 on so far on ebay!!  WooHoo!!

I took last week off and did a little scrappin’ and a little nappin’ and talked to a lot of my girlfriends on the phone and read a book.  I like that better than Spring Cleaning 2009!!  But now it is back to reality.  Next week is spring break, so I need to become the cruise director for the kids.  I am heading up and speaking/singing at our women’s spring brunch on May 9th, so I have been praying about all of that.  I am doing my sis-in-laws shower in about a month, so I need to get out the invites and plan that.  I have two baby gifts to make. Mother’s Day. I am making invitations for a wedding and doing the decorating for that all the while I am doing our homelife group, and attempting to do a newsletter for that, fitting in rehearsals for Easter and entering the Scrapbook Design Team contest for CraftWarehouse.  I think it is time to start my monthly craft night at the church too.   It makes me tired just thinking about it all!  I am glad I took last week off.  So……. what am I doing to prepare?  I am blogging and doing laundry.  Which should I stop doing now and get to work????

Oh, your flower photos make me green with envy. I BUY a hyacinth every year at the grocery store so my house smells like Spring.

And your list of things to do makes me tired. I blog to avoid life too. My boys are also trained to stop and smell the roses.

Let me know when me and my people can start voting on your scrapbooking contest page.

I just smelled my first gardenia tonight in the pot by the entry – oh so lovely!!! I would have had a guzillion blossoms if the animals hadn’t chomped the branches off. I fooled them and moved the plant to the front….so I have some blossoms to enjoy. You can’t be doing all those things – remember telling me you didn’t have a creative bone in your body??? I LOVE IT!! Gee I wonder if the pot lids will still be clean when I get there. We get to see Larry Wayne and Bob Hoffman next weekend and we’re excited. Looking forward to May. Love and Hugs to all.
I do envy your row of hyacinths!

Oh yes, sorry about all that I rain I see every night in the forecast. Loved your comment about our cold front.

Christy, you shouldn’t be blogging. You shouldn’t even turn on your computer. You barely have time to brush your teeth. Your list of things to do made me tired as well. Good luck with all of that. I will pray for your sanity! And I can almost smell that hyacinth through the computer. How funny – I made all three girls smell the hyacinth in the grocery store just yesterday!! :)

OHHHH!!!! I so love the beaty of spring flowers. After all of the brown dead stuff, I am so excited to see all of the color. A couple of years ago Dan planted tulip bulbs for me (We have clay instead of soil so I can’t dig. It’s too hard. :) ) I love the tulips! Then last year I commented that I loved the neighbor’s hyacinths, so don’t you know, he planted some bulbs for me. They are all just beginning to blossom. I can’t wait!!! Every day I look to see if they’ve POPPED! Love all of your flowers.

Now, as for your schedule, GOOD GRIEF! I thought I was busy. HA!

love ya!

Oh ya! I forgot to tell you, the cherrry blossoms are starting to bloom here. The cherry blossom festival is coming up here in DC. It’s breathtaking!

I don’t know a thing about planting flowers or plants but I sure do admire people who do. I’m excited for the opportunities God has given you and know you’ll get there one step at a time.

OK, T-W-O more days and it’s been a month since your blogged. Don’t you have stories from the beach house to share? Pictures of spring break? Anything??? Your contract from CW?

OK, April is over and you can get back to blogging now. Were you fasting blogging or something?
